Terms of Service

Ad Swap is a free, independent, one-person project run by Emma Goldberg. Using it means agreeing to the following.

What you're agreeing to by submitting a site

• You embed the Ad Swap widget on your site and keep it live for as long as you want to stay in the pool. If it comes down, your site can be removed from rotation.
• In exchange, your site name, tagline, URL, and optional logo are shown as an ad on other members' sites, and you agree that content is accurate and something you have the right to use.
• You won't submit a site that's illegal, malicious, deceptive, or hosts content most people would consider abusive, hateful, or NSFW. This isn't a fully moderated marketplace — it runs on trust between small sites — so submissions that break that trust get removed.

No guarantees

Ad Swap is provided as-is, free of charge, with no uptime guarantee, no traffic guarantee, and no warranty of any kind. It's a side project, not a service you're paying for or entitled to — it can change, break, or shut down without notice.

Moderation

Any submission can be rejected, hidden, or removed at any time, for any reason, without notice — most commonly for a broken embed, a dead site, or content that doesn't fit. There's no appeals process, but you're welcome to reach out and ask why.

Liability

Ad Swap isn't responsible for the content, behavior, or security of any member site — including the one whose ad happens to be shown on yours, or yours showing on theirs. Clicking through to another member's site is at your own judgment, the same as clicking any link on the internet. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Ad Swap and its operator aren't liable for any damages arising from using this site or the ads it displays.

Copyright & trademark takedowns

If a site name, tagline, or logo shown through Ad Swap infringes your copyright or trademark, message @ad_swap on Instagram with: the specific ad/site involved, what's being infringed, and enough detail to verify the claim (e.g. a link to the original work). Infringing content is removed promptly once verified, and a site that does this repeatedly gets removed from the pool entirely.

Governing law

These terms are governed by United States law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Since Ad Swap isn't a company, any dispute is something to work out directly first — reach out before considering anything more formal.

Indemnification

If a site you submit causes a legal claim against Ad Swap — because it's illegal, infringing, or otherwise breaks these terms — you agree to cover the reasonable costs of defending against that claim. This isn't about honest mistakes or disputes between members; it's about making sure whoever submitted the problem content is the one responsible for it, not a one-person free project.

Severability

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands — it's just read as if that one part wasn't there.

Changes

These terms may be updated as the project evolves. Continuing to use Ad Swap after a change means you accept the update.
